Swabalambi Basic School of the Deaf is a pioneering educational institution located in Murali Banjyang, Dhading District, approximately a 4.5-hour drive west of Kathmandu, Nepal. Established in 2011 by Ram Adhikari, a profoundly deaf individual, the school aims to provide accessible education to deaf children in a region where such opportunities were previously unavailable.
At Swabalambi Basic School of the Deaf, our mission is to provide quality, accessible education to deaf children using Nepali Sign Language as the primary mode of instruction. We are dedicated to empowering our students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive in society, while fostering an inclusive and supportive community that celebrates their unique abilities. Through education and vocational training, we aim to break down barriers and create equal opportunities for deaf children in Nepal.
